First Holy Communion and Confirmation
First of all
• The child has already completed the Sacrament of First Reconciliation.
• One parent is a Catholic and both parents are agreeable to the celebration. • A baptism certificate for the child is available.
Next
• The parish prepares 3 times a year. Families decide which programme.
• A parent attends an INFORMATION EVENING at Stella Maris church.
• Children do not attend this information evening.
• Families are divided into groups of 4 or 5 adults and children.
• There are 5 meetings in a home of one of the families in the group.
• A Group Leader is chosen.
Then
• The sacrament of Confirmation PRECEDES First Holy Communion.
(It usually takes place on the Friday evening at Stella Maris church).
• First Holy Communion is given that same week end.
• The family chooses among the various parish week end Masses.
If
In some dioceses of Australia Confirmation is delayed until around Grade 7.

If you intend to take part in a programme listed below please contact the Parish Office so that we know in advance you will be attending.

Information and Enrolment Nights:
- Mon 19th April 7pm
- Mon 19th July 7pm
- Tues 5 October 7pm
Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation:
June, August and November. 2010 dates to be advised.
Celebration of First Holy Communion: the weekend parish Mass of your choice following Confirmation. (It is also acceptable to postpone the First Communion to the following week ends).
